How do I remove a bounce flag from a contact?

To ensure that email service providers don’t flag your organization as spam, DirectLync limits the number of times you can dispatch emails to a recipient that shows repeated bounces. This page will answer the following questions:

  • What is a bounce?
  • What is a bounce flag and when are they used?
  • How can I remove a bounce flag from a contact to continue sending emails?

What is a bounce?

A bounced email occurs when an email is returned to the sender for one of a few reasons. It could be that the email address in your list contains a typo or that the recipient’s inbox is full. For more information on bounced emails, check out this Soft Bounce vs Hard Bounce FAQ.

What is a bounce flag and when are they used in DirectLync?

A bounce flag is notated by a red exclamation point within a red circle (pictured below). They are applied to certain contacts within a group to let you know that the last dispatched email to this recipient has bounced. Future emails will not be dispatched to these recipients until the bounce flag is removed.
